Introducing Invoiless MCP: Manage Your Invoicing from Your AI Assistant

Say hello to Invoiless MCP 🤖. You can now connect Claude or ChatGPT to Invoiless and manage your invoicing by chat: ask who still owes you money, draft an invoice in one sentence, or check how revenue is going, without opening the dashboard. Let's dig in! 🚀

What Is MCP? 🧩

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard way to connect AI assistants to the apps you use. Once Invoiless is connected, your assistant can read your Invoiless data and take actions for you, always within the permissions you give it.

You connect once with a single server URL, and it works with every assistant:

Ask About Your Business 💬

Ask questions the way you'd ask a colleague, and get answers from your real Invoiless data:

• "Who still owes me money?" Your unpaid invoices, with the total and who is late.
• "How has revenue been lately?" Your revenue for any period, compared with the months before.
• "Who are my best customers this year?"
• "Has Acme Corp paid invoice INV-0042 yet?" The balance and the payments recorded on it.

Your assistant can look up invoices, customers, items and payments, so you get the answer in seconds instead of digging through tables and reports.

Get Things Done by Chat ⚡

Your assistant doesn't just read. It can also do the work for you:

• 👤 Add customers: "Add Bright Studio as a customer, billing@example.com."
• 🧾 Draft invoices: "Invoice Bright Studio for 10 hours of design at $80."
• 📨 Send invoices to your customers by email.
• 💰 Record payments: "Record a $500 bank transfer on INV-0042."

Invoices are always created as drafts. Before anything is sent to a customer, your assistant shows you the draft (number, customer, lines and total) and asks you to confirm. 😎

You Stay in Control 🔐

Giving an AI access to your business data deserves care, so Invoiless MCP is built with clear limits:

• You choose the access. When you connect an assistant, you pick the business and the access: Full access, Read only, or Custom to pick permissions one by one.
• It acts as you. The assistant works on your behalf, within your own permissions. It can never do more than you can.
• Nothing can be deleted. Assistants can look things up and create new records, but they can never delete anything.
• Disconnect at any time. See every connected assistant in "Settings → MCP → Connected apps", and disconnect any of them in one click.

For teams, admins see every app connected to the business, and can turn off Members can connect apps to keep app connections to admins only. When a member's role or permissions change, the apps they connected are disconnected automatically.

Connect Claude 🧡

Add Invoiless as a custom connector in Claude (claude.ai or the Claude desktop app):

1. Go to your "Settings → MCP" page and click Open in Claude.
2. In Claude, click Add, then Add custom connector.
3. Set the name to Invoiless, paste the server URL, then click Add and Connect.
4. On the Invoiless screen, pick the business and the access, then click Allow.

Working in the terminal? Invoiless also works with Claude Code. Add it with one command:

Then run /mcp inside Claude Code and choose invoiless to approve the connection in your browser.

💡 Using another AI coding agent, like Cursor? Any client that supports MCP servers works too. Add Invoiless to its MCP config, and it asks you to approve the connection on first use:

Connect ChatGPT 🤖

1. Go to your "Settings → MCP" page and click Open in ChatGPT.
2. Turn on Developer mode and click New Plugin.
3. Set the name to Invoiless and the MCP server URL to https://mcp.invoiless.com.
4. Leave authentication on OAuth and submit.
5. On the Invoiless screen, pick the business and the access, then click Allow.
