We wrapped up September with Invoiless v2.7.0, bringing stronger e-invoicing, credit card payment fees (surcharge), a brand-new Payments page, and header notes for your documents. Plus a round of smaller improvements across the dashboard. Let's dig in! 🚀

E-Invoicing: Issue & Cancel Invoices 🧾

E-invoicing in Invoiless is now more robust, and works the way tax authorities expect.

When e-invoicing is enabled, a draft invoice gets a temporary DRAFT-… number. Its final number is assigned only when you issue it, so deleted drafts never leave a gap in your numbering.

Once issued, an invoice becomes a fiscal document:

• Its number and content are read-only.
• It can't be deleted. To undo it, click "Cancel invoice", and a credit note for the full amount is created automatically.
• The invoice is checked against its e-invoicing standard before it's issued, so issues are caught early.

Sending an invoice or recording a payment on a draft issues it too, and Invoiless always asks you to confirm first. Recurring invoices for e-invoicing customers are issued automatically when they're generated.

Credit Card Payment Fee (Surcharge) 💳

Card processing fees add up. You can now ask your customers to cover part of them by adding a payment fee (surcharge) to invoices paid online with a credit card via Stripe.

• Set a default fee for your business in "Settings → Business settings → Payment fee", or add one to a single invoice from the Control panel.
• Turn on Apply payment fee in a recurring invoice to add it to every invoice it generates.
• The fee applies only to credit cards. Debit cards, wallets, other payment methods and offline payments are never charged.
• The invoice total never changes. The fee is added on top at the moment of payment, and your customer sees it before paying.

⚠️ Surcharging is restricted or not allowed in some countries and regions. Invoiless asks you to confirm before you add a fee, so check your local rules first.

Payments Page 💰

All your payments, in one place. The new Payments page (under Transactions) lists every payment across your invoices, whether it came through a payment gateway or was recorded manually.

• Search, then filter by method, status, customer, or date.
• Sort by amount or date paid.
• Export the list to CSV.

It also shows what getting paid actually costs you. When your payment gateway reports it, Invoiless captures the processing fee and shows it next to each payment (currently supported for Stripe, PayPal, and Razorpay). Each fee is also added automatically as an expense transaction, so your books always reflect the real amount you received. ✨

Header Notes 📝

Need a project name, a PO number, or a short intro at the top of your invoice? Documents now have a Header notes section, shown between the document header and the items table.

Header notes are available on invoices, estimates, retainers, and recurring invoices. They support rich text and variables, just like your notes and terms. You can also set default header notes for each document type in your business settings.

More Improvements ✨

This release also includes several smaller improvements:

• 🔐 Devices & sessions: see where you're signed in from your profile, with device, location, and sign-in time, and sign out of any device you don't recognize. Changing your password or two-factor settings now signs out your other devices too.
• 🏢 Company registration number: add a registration number (like KVK, SIREN, or Handelsregister) to your business, customers, and vendors, separate from the tax ID. It shows on your documents and is included in e-invoices.
• 🔗 Flexible pretty links: you can now change a document's pretty link at any time, even after sending it or getting paid. Old links keep working.
• 🧮 Clearer totals: item discounts now show before the subtotal, the net total is always visible, and tax amounts are calculated consistently between the item drawer and the document.
• ✅ Paid means paid: marking an invoice as paid by hand now records a payment for the outstanding balance, so your reports stay accurate.
• 🔍 Search & filters: your table search and filters are kept when you leave a page and come back, even after a reload. When a table comes back empty, you can now clear them in one click right from the table.
• 🔌 Vendor webhooks: new webhook events for vendors, and vendors and attachments are now available in the Invoiless API.
• 📄 E-invoice PDFs on A4: we fixed the PDF format of e-invoices so they're always A4.
• 🧾 Receipts: your business logo now appears on payment receipts.
• 🇹🇼 Traditional Chinese: fixed translations that used Simplified characters.
• ⚡ Faster and smoother: performance improvements and UI polish across the dashboard.
• 🛠️ Plus a bunch of bug fixes and improvements across the dashboard.
